Why start a blog?
I have decided to start a blog for a few different reasons. This is almost entirely meant for myself. I want to document my thoughts on what I’m reading or watching. I want to have record of my art and my artistic process. I might also just use this for a publishable diary of sorts.
I am excited to start the process of writing and editing my blog and being able to share it with people. I obviously do not expect to become a world famous writer, nor do I want to. I just want to have fun.
A little about me
I was born in Austin, Texas. I lived in Dallas for most of my time in elementary school, and promptly moved back to Austin for a few reasons, but I like to think because there were no HEBs in Dallas. I’ve been here ever since.
I graduated high school in 2023. I would say it was a weird experience. Covid, of course, knocked out the last half of my freshman year and most of sophomore. There are a lot of fond memories from high school, but unfortunately not with many people with whom I talk to anymore. Very fortunately, I met my partner in middle school and started a relationship in our junior year of high school(well sort of freshman year, it’s complicated). We’re currently in a long distance relationship, but are very happy. I visit Rochester Institute of Technology as frequently as I can.
At the University of Texas, I study both geology and data science. I’ve been doing pretty well so far, especially academically. I currently am in TCUP(Texas Creative Union Project), which I usually just refer to as art club. I sell crochet items and now stickers at their art markets. I am also the treasurer of the Longhorn Mycological Society, where we look at mushrooms, not of the magic persuasion.
What’s next?
The first additions to this blog, most likely, will be book reviews. I also plan to add a vampire corner with different vampire media reviews. Later, more of my art and artistic process will be posted.
Again, this is really just for fun, so I will do whatever I want.
